Deidre Hawkins is a Senior Engineer with over 23 years of experience at American Airlines, specializing in aircraft systems and component engineering. Her career spans a broad spectrum of disciplines in Power Plant, Systems, and Structures, with the past 14 years focused on leading the Part Development Engineering team responsible for PMA (Parts Manufacturer Approval) initiatives. Under her leadership, the group has driven innovation in PMA aftermarket parts development, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.

Deidre is also a long-standing contributor to the Modification and Replacement Parts Association (MARPA), serving as Co-Chairperson of the MARPA Air Carrier Committee since 2016. In this role, she facilitates collaboration among air carriers to address shared technical challenges, promote best practices, and engage constructively with regulatory bodies. Her work helps shape industry standards and fosters a unified voice in advancing aviation safety and reliability.

Donny Douglas is a Principal Engineer at Delta TechOps, handling PMA review and coordination.

Donny started as a contractor in the PMA group in 2007 and was hired as a Delta propulsion engineer later that year. In his career at Delta, he has held a number of roles, initially as the customer support engineer for the PW2000 and CF34 engine shops, and currently as the lead engineer for PMA approvals.  He also serves as the Co-Chairperson of the MARPA Air Carrier Committee.

Donny holds a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in Aircraft Safety and Airworthiness from the Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile in Toulouse, France.
